With upcoming support for Matter, Roborock robot vacuums are opening up to a world of simpler, smoother integrations. This update, planned alongside the launch of iOS 18.4, puts certain models at the heart of the next generation of smart homes.
Full interoperability between devices
Developed by the Connectivity Standards Alliance, Matter defines a universal language that allows devices from different brands to communicate seamlessly. This compatibility removes limitations and makes it easier to use with Apple HomeKit, Google Home or Alexa, without complex setup.
Enhanced smart features
Matter integration unlocks advanced automations: starting the robot when nobody is at home, coordinating with sensors to optimise cleaning, or including it in a wider routine with lighting and ambience. How far these possibilities go will depend on the manufacturer’s choices.
Supported devices and rollout schedule
Eligible models are the latest from the premium line-up: Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra, Saros Z70, Saros 10 and 10R, as well as Qrevo Curv, Edge and Master. The firmware update will be rolled out between 1 and 10 April 2025. Owners will need to check the Roborock app to start installation. Older generations will remain incompatible.
Maintain your robot to extend its lifespan
Even with new features, a robot vacuum cleaner still needs regular maintenance. Replacing the battery at suitable intervals helps preserve power and run time over the long term.
