As the foldable smartphone market matures, Apple is reportedly preparing to enter this technological race. Leaked information suggests a product that combines Apple’s in-house expertise with ambitious innovations. With a rumoured very high price tag, a meticulously designed form factor and an exclusive partnership with Samsung, everything points to this foldable iPhone becoming a collector’s piece for enthusiasts.
A launch that could be a landmark moment
Even without an official announcement, rumours are pointing to a foldable iPhone slated for 2026 or 2027, the 20th anniversary of the iconic smartphone. Apple is apparently aiming to reinvent the shape of the mobile phone, relying on strategic partners to develop a discreet, high-quality foldable display.
Samsung as exclusive strategic partner
Unlike its usual approach, Apple is expected to work exclusively with Samsung for display supply. A leader in this field since 2019, the South Korean manufacturer is reportedly the only one capable of meeting Apple’s standards. LG Display and BOE, although initially considered, would be ruled out due to technical constraints, underlining how demanding the project is.
A format inspired, yet typically Apple
According to leaks, the device would offer a subtle blend of innovation and Apple’s signature style. The internal screen would measure 7.76 inches (2713 × 1920) and the external one 5.49 inches (2088 × 1422), reminiscent of the Mini formats. The idea of a hidden camera would reportedly be dropped in favour of the tried-and-tested Dynamic Island, confirming a balance between novelty and reliability.
A firmly assumed high-end price
Analysts are predicting a price range of $2,100 to $2,500, well above rival Galaxy Z Fold 6. This pricing clearly reflects a desire to offer an exceptional product rather than a handset aimed at the mass market.
Getting the most out of your current iPhone
Given such a major outlay, some users will prefer to extend the life of their current phone. Choosing a high-performance, long-lasting replacement battery remains a smart option for keeping your device running smoothly while you wait for the foldable model to arrive, with plenty of compatible options available from BatteryLaptop on www.batterylaptop.co.uk.
