An innovation unveiled in style

Keystone: a brand-new concept in the ASUS ecosystem

Design and integration into the laptops

Compact and discreet, the Keystone uses NFC technology to connect to the system via a port built into the device, usually located on the right-hand side. This small plastic component, far smarter than it looks, slots directly into the chassis and interfaces with the motherboard. Initially, it was limited to a few models, but it is now planned to be integrated into many upcoming ranges.

A range of features designed for gamers

Activating tailor-made gaming profiles

Once inserted, the Keystone instantly activates custom settings. This lets you switch between different configurations depending on the game you launch or the environment in which you’re using the laptop. This feature offers enhanced gaming comfort, while saving you time on manual adjustments.

Performance profiles to match your needs

Users can also create what are known as « scenario profiles ». These profiles allow you to automate certain actions such as boosting fan speeds, managing CPU priority, or adjusting screen brightness and lighting. Everything is designed to optimise each gaming session.

Secure access to a private drive

One of the most notable features is Shadow Drive, a hidden, encrypted storage area. It can only be accessed with the Keystone, which significantly strengthens the security of data stored locally. A real advantage for users who want to keep their files safe from prying eyes.

Gadget or genuinely useful innovation?

Although it may seem superfluous at first glance, the Keystone brings together well-thought-out, practical functions:

  • Custom settings in an instant to optimise your gaming experience.

  • Enhanced security thanks to protected access to a virtual drive.

  • A portable, easy-to-use tool, ideal for those who travel frequently or switch between laptops.

On the other hand, the lighting options and visual effects, while attractive, are more of a cosmetic extra than a functional necessity.

    Conclusion

ASUS Keystone brings a welcome touch of personalisation and security for demanding users. It is not only aimed at fans of tech gadgets, but also at those who want to get the very best out of their gaming laptop. Balancing practical innovation with visual flair, it has the potential to become an essential tool for mobile gamers and enthusiasts of advanced configurations alike.
