The Windows 10 update has introduced new features that allow these two devices to be synchronised. Syncing the two devices helps you save time when transferring media files, emails or text messages.<\/p>\n<h2><b>Requirements<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>Synchronisation lets you carry on reading a web page on your computer that you opened on your phone, continue writing your emails or texts, and access your photos, videos and music directly.<\/p>\n<p>Here are the few conditions required to sync your smartphone with your computer:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">The latest version of Windows 10 must be installed on your computer.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">You also need a Microsoft account. This is usually the email address and password you use with Outlook, Hotmail, OneDrive, Skype, Xbox or Windows.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>On your computer<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>Now let\u2019s go through the pairing steps, starting with what you need to do on your computer. The steps are as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Press the Windows key on your keyboard or click the Windows icon at the bottom left of the screen.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Then click the cogwheel to open Windows Settings.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Next, you\u2019ll see the Phone option. Click it.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">In the Your phone section, click Add a phone.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">After that, a new window will appear on your screen. Enter your mobile number in the box and make sure the dialling code matches your country.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">To continue, click Send.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><b>On your smartphone<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>After completing these different steps on your computer, it\u2019s time to move on to your smartphone. The steps are as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Because you entered your phone number, you will receive a confirmation text message. This message comes from Microsoft. It contains a link that lets you continue the synchronisation. Tap the link to follow it.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">The link takes you to the Microsoft Launcher app page.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Tap Install. Normally, if everything goes well, the download and installation will complete in a few seconds.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Then launch Microsoft Launcher.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">After the app starts, the home screen appears.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">The next step is to sign in to complete the link between devices.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Enter your username, that is, the email address linked to your Microsoft account.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Tap Sign in with Microsoft.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Type in the password for your Microsoft account.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Tap Sign in to finish logging in.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Your smartphone is now synced with your computer. The page that appears will show you what you can do once the link is set up. The Microsoft Launcher app will request access to your photos, media content and other files on your smartphone.<\/p>\n<p>The app may also ask for your location in order to locate you. After all these steps, you will reach the All set page. All you need to do is tap Let\u2019s go at the bottom of the screen to start using Microsoft Launcher.
