Linking your smartphone<\/strong> to your PC<\/strong> is now possible. The latest Windows 10<\/strong> update has introduced new features that allow you to synchronise<\/strong> these two devices<\/strong>. Syncing the two devices speeds up the transfer of media content, emails<\/strong> and SMS<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Requirements<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Synchronisation lets you continue on your computer<\/strong> reading a web<\/strong> page opened on your phone<\/strong>, carry on writing your emails or text messages, and access your photos<\/strong>, videos<\/strong> and music<\/strong> directly.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Here are the conditions required to sync your smartphone with your computer<\/strong>:<\/span><\/p>\n

  • The latest version of Windows 10<\/strong> must be installed on your computer<\/strong>.<\/span><\/li>\n
  • You must also have a Microsoft<\/strong> account. This is usually the email<\/strong> address and password<\/strong> you use with Outlook, Hotmail, OneDrive, Skype, Xbox or Windows<\/strong>.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    On your computer<\/strong><\/h2>\n

    Now let\u2019s move on to the steps to link the devices, starting with what you need to do on your computer. The steps are as follows:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    • Press the Windows key<\/strong> on your keyboard<\/strong> or click the Windows<\/strong> icon at the bottom left of the screen.<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Then click the cogwheel<\/strong> icon to open<\/strong> Windows settings.<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Next, you will see the Phone<\/strong> option. Click it.<\/span><\/li>\n
    • In the Your phone<\/strong> section, click Add a phone<\/strong>.<\/span><\/li>\n
    • A new window will then appear on your screen<\/strong>. Enter your phone number<\/strong> in the box and make sure the dialling code matches your country<\/strong>.<\/span><\/li>\n
    • To continue, click Send<\/strong>.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      On the smartphone<\/b><\/h2>\n

      After completing these different steps<\/strong> on your computer<\/strong>, it\u2019s time to move on to your smartphone<\/strong>. The steps are as follows<\/strong>:<\/span><\/p>\n

      • Because you entered your phone number, you will receive a confirmation SMS<\/strong>. This message comes from Microsoft<\/strong>. It contains a link that lets you continue the synchronisation<\/strong>. Tap the link<\/strong> to follow it.<\/span><\/li>\n
      • The link takes you to the Microsoft Launcher<\/strong> app page.<\/span><\/li>\n
      • Tap Install<\/strong>. If everything goes smoothly, the download<\/strong> and installation<\/strong> will complete in a few seconds.<\/span><\/li>\n
      • Launch<\/strong> Microsoft Launcher.<\/span><\/li>\n
      • After the app starts<\/strong>, the home screen appears.<\/span><\/li>\n
      • The next step is to sign in<\/strong> to finish linking the devices.<\/span><\/li>\n
      • Enter your username<\/strong>, that is, the email<\/strong> address linked to your Microsoft account<\/strong>.<\/span><\/li>\n
      • \u00a0<\/span>Tap Sign in with Microsoft<\/strong>.<\/span><\/li>\n
      • Type the password<\/strong> for your Microsoft account.<\/span><\/li>\n

        Your smartphone<\/strong> is now synced with your computer<\/strong>. The page that appears will show you what you can do once the link is established. The Microsoft<\/strong> Launcher<\/strong> app will ask for access<\/strong> to your photos, media and other files on your smartphone<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

        The app<\/strong> may also ask for your location<\/strong> in order to locate<\/strong> you. After all these steps, you will reach the All set<\/strong> page. All you need to do is tap at the bottom of the screen<\/strong> on Let\u2019s go to start Microsoft Launcher<\/strong>.
